Join VTPFD for our BIPOC Virtual Meet Up Series #2, featuring Myra Flynn of Vermont Public Radio, on Tuesday, June 1, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm!
Vermont’s traditional media outlets continue to struggle with diverse newsrooms and inclusive stories. When they do find talent, they can’t always hold on to it. Well, that’s changing in a big way at VPR with Myra Flynn joining Connor Cyrus and Bryant Denton on staff.
Join BIPOC Vermonters from all over the state and give her a warm, melanated welcome during our second BIPOC Virtual Meet Up with new Vermont Public Radio staff.
Myra Flynn joined VPR as an Engagement Producer in March 2021. Her talents can be found on VPR’s Brave Little State program. Raised in Vermont, Myra is an accomplished musician who has come to know the lay of dirt-road land that much more intimately through touring both well-known and obscure stages all around the state and beyond. She also has experience as a teaching artist and wore many hats at the Burlington Free Press, including Features Reporter and Correspondent, before her pursuits took her deep into the arts world. Prior to joining VPR, Myra spent eight years in the Los Angeles music industry. She is married and the mother of a 13-month old child.
Let’s set her up to succeed! Let’s set her up with BIPOC Vermonters who have stories, perspectives, and expertise to share. Let’s celebrate, and the best way to do that is to grab a drink, Covid-style, with her!
