The Vermont Vision for a Multicultural Future Conference is a two-day, full participation conference, during which the participants create the agenda for the conference in real time. The nature of the conference requires that participants commit to full participation and full attendance both days, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Thursday, November 7, continental breakfast, full lunch, and snacks throughout the day are provided, followed by a full dinner. Friday, November 8, full breakfast, full lunch, and snacks throughout the day are provided. Please be certain to indicate in the registration form if you have any special dietary needs.

Organisations may have up to 3 participants, only. Strategist sponsors receive one complimentary participant registration but may still purchase two additional participant seats, and Visionary sponsors receive three complimentary participant registrations. Sponsoring organisations should please use the appropriate registration type. All Sponsor registrations must be confirmed manually by VVMF organisers. Because of the way the registration software works, available ticket numbers do not accurately reflect available participant seats, and we will modify them as necessary.

Hotel accommodations must be arranged by registrants. The conference organizers have negotiated discounted rates at the following local hotels. Please be sure to inform the reservation agent that you are attending the conference to receive the discounted rate. We are expecting to receive online links from the hotels that will allow the discount to be applied automatically and will update this page at that time:

Description:

The 8th Annual Vermont Vision for a Multicultural Future Conference will take place Thursday and Friday, November 7-8, 2018, in the Stephen and Nita Lowey International Center at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, VT.

School for International Training

School for International Training prepares students from across the globe to be effective leaders, professionals, and citizens. SIT’s graduate and professional development programs are rooted in the experiential education model, where learning occurs at the nexus of theory and practice. Students are trained to become highly skilled practitioners who have a commanding knowledge of the theoretical basis of their profession; experience in the field; and an awareness of their own capabilities, values, and ethics.

Throughout its five-decade history SIT has delivered innovative graduate programs in the areas of peace and conflict transformation, socially responsible management, sustainable development, international education, and teacher preparation. In the late 1960s, SIT introduced programs in teaching English, and in 1971, the school awarded its first master’s degree for the Program in Intercultural Management. The 1970s and 1980s saw a further evolution of programs offered, and the 1990s were marked by an expansion of facilities on SIT’s Brattleboro, Vermont, campus. In 2007, SIT introduced an online option for its MA in international education, and in 2011, it launched an MA in sustainable development in Washington, DC.

Today, SIT continues to adapt to a changing world and the ever-evolving needs of its students by developing innovative full-time, face-to-face, global master’s degree programs. It remains as committed as ever to the principles of social justice, intercultural communication, and experiential learning.
